Q7. Enrolment Day is the day on which your child officially starts Nursery School. This year, all children, with the exception of those on holiday, were enrolled in four groups commencing on Tuesday, 23rd August 2016. To settle the children properly and to help them become familiar with their new surroundings, the children and adults in the school and the routines to be understood and followed, we increase the duration of the day and the class size gradually over the first four weeks until week five when almost every child will stay in school to have dinner. After Hallowe'en, the day is extended further to enable the staff to work on particular skills and areas for development with their own class during a quieter afternoon session. Please comment on what you think of our approach to the Settling In period including timings, routines, when dinners commence, building relationships with your child etc. and record any further ideas or suggestions in relation to this.
Q8. The Treasure Boxes you made with your children are a wonderful resource to have in school as we get to know your children. They provide numerous opportunities for conversation with adults and other children and can also serve as a distraction for a child who is a little upset or unsure. Please read the following statements and tick all that apply.
